In Person Classes resuming from 13th January 2024 at 9:30 AM post Winter Break and OCDSB PD Days
Parents Looking forward to register their child(ren) anytime during the 2023-2024 Session:
Please see below TWO steps regarding registration:
- Please register with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) by filling and submitting the online registration form (1 form per student). Upon enrolment of your child(ren) as a Hindi Language Student with OCDSB, you will receive a Welcome email from their teachers within a few days along with necessary instructions on when to start attemdomg the school. Please do not come to school until registration with OCDSB is complete and a Welcome email from the teacher has been received.
- Upon completion of registration in Step 1, please register your children with Mukul Management Committee by filling and submitting the this registration form. With this form, you are registering yourself and your child(ren) with the Mukul Management Committee. The Management Committee organizes Cultural Events, Annual Picnic, Yearbook Release, provisioning School Books, Class Materials and School Binders during the School year. Therefore, we request you kindly donate to Mukul as part of this registration process. Donations can be made through e-transfer to donate.mukul@gmail.com or via cheque or cash. Parents are requested to donate a minimum of:
- First child: $75
- Additional Child(ren): $50 per child (e.g. $125 for 2 children, $175 for 3 children and so on ..)
Parents who plan to donate a higher amount, Mukul will sincerely appreciate your gesture and support. All donations are tax deductible, and a tax receipt will be provided.You can ask for any Mukuk Committee member after you arrive to assist further. Thank you in advance!
Location: Pinecrest Public School, 1281 McWatters Rd, Ottawa, ON K2C 3E7
Timings: The Classes shall be conducted every Saturday, 9:30AM- 12PM, as per OCDSB Calendar.
Classes: Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 (Individual Classes for each Grade)
Eligibility: Though the school operates under OCDSB's International Languages Program (ILP), Students irrespective of their Regular School Board or Private school are accepted for Registration.
Introduction
Mukul Hindi School is a registered non-profit charitable organization (Revenue Canada registration # 89925-1821-RR0001) that has been operating in the National Capital Region since 1971.
Aptly named as a flower about to blossom, "Mukul" was created in 1971 to provide its students with rich cultural experiences and add to their personal growth in their blossoming years. The very first classes were held in the National Library on Wellington Street in Ottawa.
The history of Mukul is closely interwoven with the Indian community in Ottawa-Hull. Over the years, the school has grown to a point where it started operating under the aegis of both the Heritage and International Language Programmes of the Ministry of Education, Ontario. The school operates as a non-profitable charitable organization.
Mukul Hindi School is governed by its own constitution, a copy of which is available from the Policies & Procedures Section of Mukul's web site. The general body of the school, consisting of the teachers and parents/guardians of the students currently enrolled in Hindi Language classes at Mukul Hindi School, elects a Voluntary Management Committee every year during the Annual General Body Meeting.
The Management Committee of Mukul Hindi School operates under the constitution of Mukul Hindi School. While the board is responsible for delivering the language program, the committee has the responsibilities of promoting Indian Heritage and Culture, as well as the interests of parents/guardians and students of Mukul Hindi School. The committee works with the O.C.D.S.B in order to deliver the Hindi Language programme more effectively.
